About Pagefurl

A writing room where you can see the whole story.

Pagefurl is a writing app for screenwriters and novelists. It lays out your script or manuscript as one picture, so you can see the shape of the story while you write the pages.

What it does

Every scene becomes a slice of one picture. Its width is its pages, its height its tension, its engraving the time of day. Scenes sit in sequences, sequences in act cards, and the acts run along the spine of the story. Drag an act and its scenes follow. Click any slice and you are on a real page in a full editor: industry-standard screenplay format for scripts, standard manuscript format for novels.

Why it exists

A feature screenplay runs to roughly 90 to 120 pages, and a novel to many times that, yet most writing software shows them one page at a time. So writers pin index cards to a wall, keep the structure in a spreadsheet and write the pages somewhere else. Pagefurl puts the wall, the outline and the pages in one place, so a change in one shows up in the others.

Who it is for

Screenwriters preparing for competitions such as the Academy Nicholl Fellowships, the Austin Film Festival and Sundance. Novelists who plan in chapters and sections. Anyone who has lost the thread of their own story somewhere around page 60. You can start from four act cards or from a built-in structure: Three act, Save the Cat, Hero’s journey, Seven-point, the eight-sequence approach or Kishōtenketsu.

Underneath the scenes

Timelines follow each character, the emotional turn of every scene, the side plots and the images that rhyme. You can lay an old myth under your script, Orpheus, Prometheus or Persephone, and see where your story walks the same road.

Your work stays yours

Bring in what you already have from Final Draft, Fountain, Highland, Word, PDF, Markdown or plain text. Take it out again at any time as PDF, Final Draft, Fountain, Word, EPUB or Markdown. Export is always free, also after a trial ends. What you write is encrypted on your own device before it is saved, so nobody can read it but you; it is never sold, never published and never used to train AI models. The Security page says exactly how.

Who makes it

Pagefurl is made by Spiridon Iconomou, an independent developer in Varberg, on the west coast of Sweden. There are no ads. The app is paid for by the writers who use it: 14 days free with no card, then €12 a month or €96 a year. Questions, ideas and bug reports go straight to the person who builds it, at hello@pagefurl.com.
