The short version: your writing is yours.
These terms cover how you may use Pagefurl and what we do with what you write in it. They are meant to be read, so they are short.
Who runs Pagefurl
Pagefurl is run by Spiridon Iconomou (sole trader), VAT number SE850205041501, Sveagatan 85, 432 42 Varberg, Sweden. We are responsible for your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Write to hello@pagefurl.com or choose Write to support in the account menu.
Your writing is yours
Everything you make in Pagefurl belongs to you: scripts, novels, cards, notes and the pictures you add. We store it so you can open it from any browser, and we use it only to run the app for you. We don’t sell it, we don’t publish it, we don’t read it unless you ask us to help with something, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
Your account
You need an account to save work. Use an email address you control and keep your password to yourself. An account is for one writer. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
Free trial and subscription
Every new account gets 14 days free, with no card needed. After that, writing needs a subscription: €12 a month or €96 a year, or the founding price of €72 a year for the first 100 subscribers, kept for as long as the subscription runs without a break. Prices include VAT where it applies. Payments are handled by Stripe. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel it. You can cancel, change plan, update your card and download receipts any time under Plan and billing; a cancelled subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for, and we don’t refund partial periods. Because the service starts as soon as you subscribe, we ask you to agree that it starts right away; once it has started you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal that EU law otherwise gives consumers. If the trial ends or a subscription stops, nothing is deleted: you can still open, read and export your work. If we change prices, we tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal.
Using Pagefurl fairly
Don’t use the app to break the law, to store material you have no right to, or to harass anyone. Don’t try to break, overload or get around its security, and don’t copy or resell the app itself. We may suspend an account that does these things, and we will tell you why.
What we keep, and why
Your account: name, email address, sign-in details and when you signed up, so you can sign in. Your projects: pages, cards, beats, timelines, bible entries, notes and pictures, so the app can store and show them. Your settings, such as theme and palette. For all of these the legal basis is our agreement with you (GDPR article 6.1.b). Support messages, with the page you were on if you include it, so we can answer you. Technical logs, such as errors and request times, kept briefly by the hosting to keep the service running and secure; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working, safe service (article 6.1.f).
Who else handles it
Pagefurl runs on Base44 (Wix.com Ltd., Israel), which hosts the app, its database and uploaded pictures and processes data only on our instructions. Israel is recognised by the EU as giving adequate protection. Where Base44 or its providers handle data outside the EU, the transfer is covered by the EU’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ireland) handles subscriptions and payments; we never see or store your card number. If you sign in with Google, Google confirms who you are to us. Fonts and app code are served from Pagefurl itself, so other companies don’t see your visits.
Pictures
Each picture you add is stored at a web address that isn’t listed anywhere, but anyone who has that exact address can open it, so don’t add pictures that must stay secret. Deleting your account removes pictures from your projects, but the files themselves can stay on the storage service. Write to us and we will have them removed.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and projects until you delete them. Delete account, at the bottom of Writer profile in the account menu, removes your projects, settings and sign-in in one step, and it can’t be undone. Copies in the hosting’s backups disappear within the hosting provider’s normal backup cycle, and we never restore them into Pagefurl. Support messages are kept for two years so we can follow up, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, deleted or restricted, object to how we use it, and take your work with you; export gives you your projects as PDF, Final Draft, Fountain, Word, EPUB or Markdown at any time. Write to us and we answer within a month. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
Cookies and storage
Pagefurl stores only what it needs to work in your browser: your sign-in and a few settings. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics, so there is nothing to accept.
Availability
We work to keep Pagefurl running and your work safe, but the app is provided as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes. Export important work now and then, so you always hold your own copy.
Responsibility
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, such as lost income or a missed deadline, that come from using Pagefurl. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live. Swedish law applies.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Pagefurl after that, the new terms apply.
